Urban environments driving evolution

EEB’s Marc Johnson and Jason Munshi-South (Fordham) have published a review in Science documenting hundreds of cases of evolution in response to urban environments. Urban selection pressures, isolation caused by city structures, and increased mutation rates resulting from pollution have driven evolution in birds, anoles, fish, and insects.
