Prof. Lenore Fahrig awarded the NSERC Herzberg Gold Medal for science and engineering

Lenore Fahrig a Professor in the Department of Biology at Carlton University just won this year’s highly prestigious NSERC Herzberg Gold Medal for science and engineering.

Prof. Fahrig did her PhD in our former Department of Zoology with Jyri Paloheimo from 1984-1987. Her current research is on the effects of landscape structure on abundance, distribution and persistence of organisms. The award has been given yearly since 1991. Lenore is the third ecologist to win the award along with previous award winners Dave Schindler and John Smol.
