Congratulations to Spencer Barrett, University Professor Emeritus in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology, for being awarded the prestigious Darwin-Wallace Medal by the Linnean Society of London for 2020.

The medal is for major advances in evolutionary biology and was first awarded in 1908 to mark the 50-year anniversary of the joint presentation of work by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russell Wallace on evolution by natural selection. Because of the Covid pandemic announcement of the award was delayed and presentation of the medal will occur later this year at the Linnean Society in London.
