Please join the Department of Biology at the University of Toronto Mississauga for a special seminar to hear Professor Loren Rieseberg speak about how new species originate and evolve in nature. Prof. Rieseberg has published nearly 300 papers and is the world’s authority on the genetics and genomics of plant speciation. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the MacArthur Fellowship (a.k.a. Genius Award), the Stebbins Medal, the David Starr Jordan Prize and the Wallace-Franklin Medal. He is a Fellow of numerous prestigious societies including the Royal Society of Canada, the Royal Society of London and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He is presently a Canada Research Chair at University of British Columbia.

Professor Riesberg will also give a seminar with the same title on the St. George Campus

on Monday Sept 24 at noon in RW117, hosted by Spencer Barrett.
