Sixteen week research award - starting May 7, 2012
Please see the following link for instructions and application information for Summer 2012 NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA): Student Program Guidelines & Procedures 2012.
USRA application information will be captured from the NSERC On-line System. Therefore, all applications *MUST* be completed by students and their supervisors online. Applications must then be printed and signed manually. Those prepared by any other means (e.g., handwritten or manually typewritten) will *NOT* be accepted.
An application checklist is available to assist you. Please refer to this to ensure that your application is complete and admissible.
Only NSERC-eligible professors can be supervisors.
Applications are due no later than Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in the EEB Undergraduate Office.
It is imperative that both parts of Form 202 are complete. An application is not considered complete without an official transcript attached. *New this year, NSERC requires a scanned PDF of your transcript along with the online application. We are not requiring you to show us the PFD scanned copy beforehand, as we will be carefully reviewing the original transcript when handed in with the printed and signed copy of your application. Official transcripts can be ordered online through the Student Web Service (SWS - ROSI). For more information on ordering transcripts please see the following link: U of T Transcript Centre. Official transcripts can take up to several days to be available. Please be sure to order your transcript well in advance of the NSERC deadline.
Letter of Intent: In addition to a transcript, students must also include a signed one page statement outlining their academic interests, reasons for wanting to participate in research and how this award will benefit your career goals. In this letter please include a concise list of your research experience, including (but not limited to) work study, Research Opportunity Program (ROP), independent research/project course, and volunteer experience.
