PhD Defenses, Appraisals, and MSc exam options include: online, in person or a hybrid format. TBD by student, supervisor(s) and members of the exam committee.
Committee Meetings
- New Online FormEEB Supervisory Committee Approval FormPlease use this form to record new supervisory committees or to propose permanent updates to existing committees. Temporary changes can be logged via the regular committee meeting form.
- New Online FormMSc/PhD Supervisory Committee Meeting Form (Part A)This form must be completed by the student in advance of the Supervisory Committee Meeting. Upon completion, a copy of this form will be sent automatically to the student email, the supervisor(s) and committee members as listed in the student file, and the EEB Graduate Office.

Writing Support
- Graduate Centre for Academic CommunicationGCAC offers five types of support designed to target the needs of both native and non-native speakers of English: non-credit courses, single-session workshops, individual writing consultations, writing intensives, and a list of additional resources for academic writing and speaking.

Writing support falls into three categories:
1) Helping individuals & lab-groups improve their writing skills
2) Helping students come together to write, meet others, and share successes/ struggles in weekly in-person writing camps
3) Helping students communicate complex ideas clearly, write persuasively & speak effectively with those outside the scientific community through media training workshops
